Woollensbrook Crematorium to offer state-of-the-art funerals

Woollensbrook Cemetery & Crematorium is to become a funeral ‘SuperVenue’, enabling bereaved families to experience immeasurable personalisation to their loved ones’ service.

The chapel is to be renovated and fitted with state-of-the-art technology which will enable funeral services to be more uniquely personal than ever before.

The transformation is due to take place between April 18 and May 5 and the SuperVenue is due to be available for funeral services from Wednesday May 6.

Woollensbrook Cemetery & Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries, with 42 sites in England, Scotland and Wales, and which is trusted by more families than any other provider to deliver funerals for their loved ones.

All Westerleigh's locations are set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide peaceful places for people to visit and reflect, while benefiting from exceptional care and support from its teams.

Woollensbrook is one of a growing number of Westerleigh sites to become a SuperVenue.

Post renovation,  mourners can be greeted by their loved one’s service schedule or image displayed on external welcome screen, setting the tone for the service.

Inside the chapel, a beautifully curated theme will be projected onto the entire front wall – canvas – accompanied by harmoniously coordinated soundscapes and lighting.

There will be a range of canvas themes to choose from to reflect the life of the person being remembered.

Woollensbrook Cemetery & Crematorium Manager Mark Winnock said: “We are proud to be introducing the opportunity to personalise funerals to unprecedented levels to our bereaved communities.

“The feedback received from our SuperVenues already operating in other parts of the country has been extremely positive, and I look forward to supporting the bereaved near and further afield to have the chance to create the most memorable tributes to their loved ones.

“Whether it’s a waterfall or a seasonal background, or even a football stadium, there is a wide range of themes and choices available, with many options to tailor the displays to be specifically relevant to the person being honoured.”

The innovative experience is the result of a partnership between Westerleigh Group and the UK’s leading audio-visual provider to the bereavement industry, Obitus.
